The economy in Eastern Switzerland has recovered extremely quickly from the corona shock and continues to grow. On the other hand, the current delivery bottlenecks and high purchase prices are having a braking effect. These and other trends were shared in the presentation at this year's economic forum "Zukunft Ostschweiz". IHK's chief economist Alessandro Sgro says: "In industry, demand has largely recovered, the order books are full, the utilization of production capacities is at a multi-year high," referring to the latest analysis by the Eastern Switzerland Economic Board.
However, in order to be competitive in the long term, Eastern Switzerland needs a strong will to innovate, which also Andrea Berlinger emphasized in the panel discussion.
The power of innovation
With Berlinger's innovation strategy, the company is investing in high-tech products for the temperature monitoring of pharmaceutical and medical products as well as for the safe transport and storage of doping samples in top-class sport. Thanks to the constant striving for innovation, Berlinger can deliver to over 180 countries from Eastern Switzerland.
Andrea Berlinger even compares innovations with handicrafts. "The difference between an artist and an entrepreneur are the guard rails: the artist is free, the entrepreneur, on the other hand, has to set the guard rails correctly so that future market needs can be identified and developed at an early stage." A strong network with customers and partners is particularly crucial for this today.
