IDCO Training Program - First Anniversary Celebrations

It has been already a year since the ITA IDCO Training Program kicked off and what the team has achieved in these last 12 months is incredible and can be named a true success story.

Keep on moving!

Following the motto “Keeping Sport Real”, the ITA IDCO Training Program aims to offer athletes all over the world the guarantee that the doping controls they are subject to are conducted safely, respectfully and with trained professionals in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code and international best practice. Therefore, the ITA IDCO is aiming to educate and train the Doping Control Officers (DCOs) on the highest level to ensure high-quality standards in testing conducting for doping controls during sports events.

Berlinger is proudly supporting this initiative, which enables the ITA to deliver this training program for free to DCOs around the world.

The program just reached the incredible number of 500 DCOs that have been trained and certified as IDCOs in 67 countries around the world, five trainers are constantly taking care of the advanced training, both online and in person, and the training for Tokyo 2020 is in full swing.

Following IDCO's vision of professionalizing the role of Doping Control Officers, the ITA has put together a remarkable range of learning resources to ensure highest standards of education and continuous learning. And the success story continues: For the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022, preparations have already started to train 120 IDCO’s for the event.
